Adding Mixed Numbers

Adding 1 1/4 + 2 1/4
  • Whole numbers: 1 + 2 = 3
  • Fractions: 1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4
  • Result: 3 2/4

To add mixed numbers, first add the whole numbers together. Then, add the fractional parts separately.
